NC Attorney General
Dan Bishop
Dan Bishop is a conservative who tells the truth.
He’s running for Attorney General to defend the rule of law and protect North Carolina. Dan believes Democrats like Roy Cooper and Josh Stein have abused the state’s top law enforcement office by turning it into a stepping stone for higher office and a platform to spread liberal propaganda.

U.S. House of Representatives
Dr. Greg Murphy
Dr. Greg Murphy, originally from Raleigh, graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College in 1985. He then attended UNC School of Medicine graduating with Honors and a member of AOA. After completing his surgical residency in Urology and Renal Transplantation at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, he and his wife, Wendy, settled in Greenville, NC to begin his practice. He has been active in his community working with his church and other groups doing outreach and helping those in need.
Murphy was formerly President of Eastern Urological Associates in Greenville and Affiliate Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Urology at the ECU School of Medicine. He recently served as Davidson College’s Alumni President and was on its Board of Trustees. Outside of work he has demonstrated a desire to help those less fortunate. He has traveled extensively for the last 35 years to Third World Countries including India, several parts of Africa, Nicaragua and Haiti as a Medical Missionary.
Prior to entering politics, Murphy's professional career had been primarily one of clinical practice and administrative leadership positions. His surgical practice site is Vidant Medical Center, a 1,000-bed level 1 Trauma Center, which serves 29 eastern NC counties. He served for three years as Chief of Staff of the Medical Center. He previously served on the Board of the NC Urological Association, on the Board of Directors of the South Eastern Section of the American Urological Association and on the Executive Board of the Judicial and Ethics Committee for the American Urological Association as well as on the By-Laws Committee. He is a member in good standing of the North Carolina Institute of Medicine. He is the only actively practicing physician in Congress seeing patients a few days a month still.
Dr. Murphy was recruited to serve in the North Carolina House of Representatives and did so from 2015 to 2019. During his second term in the General Assembly, he was asked to serve as Senior Chair of Health Policy and Chair of Health and Human Services Appropriations. While he was successful in getting a variety of legislative items passed, his greatest focus was on helping reduce the tragic impacts of the Opioid Epidemic. Murphy built strong bipartisan support and was the Primary Sponsor of both the STOP Act and the HOPE Act, North Carolina’s two main legislative initiatives to combat the Opioid Crisis. He also led efforts to combat waste, fraud and abuse in the state’s Medicaid system which saved the state hundreds of millions of dollars during his tenure.
Dr. Murphy ran in North Carolina’s Third Congressional District special election in 2019 to replace Congressman Walter B Jones, Jr, who passed away in office after serving Eastern North Carolinians for more than 22 years. Murphy was officially sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives on September 15, 2019. He serves on the Ways and Means Committee, and is a member of the Health and Trade Subcommittees. Dr. Murphy also serves on the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, where he is a member of the Health Subcommittee, and the Committee on House Administration, where he is a member of the Oversight Subcommittee. As the only practicing surgeon in Congress, Murphy is also a Co-Chair of the House Republican Doctors Caucus.Cited from: https://murphy.house.gov/bio

District Convention Date Set for December 9
https://www.wral.com/video/new-nc-political-districts-now-officially-law/21115013/
The re-districting maps have been filed and passed by the NC General Assembly and NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley has put out the official call for district conventions to commence.
Our District Three now contains the counties of Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pitt, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Onslow, Duplin, Carteret, and a portion of Sampson. The convention is set for December 9, with the major portion of the business session marked for election of district officers for the upcoming two years.
Due to the abbreviated time for preparations, there will not be a nominating committee process; instead, nominations for officers will be made from the convention floor.
At our March 2023 County Convention, we elected 69 delegates to represent us at the district convention. Our county convention Credentials Chair Stephanie Broughton previously credentialed those delegates in anticipation of the district meeting. If you were elected a delegate, you should have received an email announcing the date last week.
Obviously, securing a venue at this time of year is proving to be a challenge; one location being considered is the Leon Mann Center in Morehead City.
Mark your calendars and watch for updates on location and times. It would be fabulous to have a full delegation representing Carteret County.
BIDENOMICS IS FAILING AMERICANS
- Bidenomics continues to wreak havoc on Americans, and North Carolinians are hardly immune from its ill effects. That's because Democrat policies are destructive to prosperity; NC knows Republican policies work to help families, workers, and businesses thrive.
- The average 30 year fixed mortgage rate has now eclipsed eight percent for the first time since 2000. Democrat policies are unaffordable!
- Americans need to earn a record $114,627/year to afford a median priced home in the U.S., making Bidenomics completely unaffordable for too many Americans.
- “A homebuyer’s dollar goes about half as far as it did at the end of according to NBC The Democrats' economic plan delivers nothing but economic pain. Make housing affordable again!
- Bidenomics means rent affordability in the U.S. has dropped to its lowest level in decades, especially for “low to moderate income households.” America deserves real leadership to deliver a sound economy!
- While President Biden keeps insisting things are are on upswing, the typical American household is spending about $730/month more than one year a go because of spiking prices.
- The nationwide average for regular gas has been above $3/gallon for 890+ days. Unleash American Energy Supply!
- Bidenomics is changing people's priorities for the worse: Paying bills and saving for emergencies has replaced saving for retirement as the top concern for workers between the ages of 21 and 64.
- UNDER BIDEN: Overall prices are up 17.7%, Rent is up by 17.3%, Electricity is up by 26.6%, Groceries are up by 20.6%.
That's Bidenomics!

During this time of thanksgiving, I am grateful for God's many blessings. Among those blessings, I am thankful for the opportunities that come with my position as chairwoman, to promote conservative values and the preservation of our fundamental, Constitutional rights!
The work of the CCGOP will be a success only when driven by the desire to change the current direction of our Country. I am grateful to those of you who walk that path with me. Let us persevere with purpose as we move into the critical 2024 election year.

Dear Fellow Carteret County Republican,
I believe that blessings take many forms and can appear at any time. I consider my role in the Carteret County GOP leadership a very special blessing for me.
Yesterday, our Party experienced a blessing that brings with it great opportunity.
At the NCGOP Third Congressional District Convention -- a convention that was eight-months delayed, Carteret County had a very good day! Not only did we show up, but we showed out!
We had the larges delegation of the nine counties present. Additionally, we were successful in seating not one; not two; but three members-at-large from Carteret on the district and state executive committees. Those new members-at-large are Donna Williamson, Tim Quinn, and Robert Harper.
It doesn't stop there! We also elected 2023-2025 district officers and Carteret County seated two of our own, Michele Nix is now the new First Vice-Chairman of the NCGOP Third District, and Stephanie Broughton is the new Secretary of the NCGOP Third District.
A highlight of the proceedings was the awarding of the Annual Jan Grube Volunteer Award. Stephanie Broughton carried home the award. Stephanie was honored to receive the recognition for obvious reasons, but further, she was especially blessed because the award is named in honor of her grandmother, a former district chairwoman.
I am grateful to the delegates and guests who took their personal time to drive more than 150 miles to attend the event. The commitment of our CCGOP patriots continues to enhance our work. Our delegation included the following:
- Dennis Barber
- Matt & Stephanie Broughton
- Rob Cairns & Rep. Celeste Cairns
- Lynn Carraway
- Anthony & Mary DiBona
- Dave & Wanda Fowler
- Ida Gaskill
- Robert Harper
- Marysasser Holloway & Dale Rimmer
- Kathy Leary
- Michael Moeller
- Patty & David Morey
- John & Michele Nix
- Bob Pruett
- Barbara & Tim Quinn
- Ken Raper
- Shirley Redford
- Barbara Smith
- Dianne Tetreault
- Donna & Steve Williamson
- DeDe Worley
- Guests: RJ Lytle and Annita Best
It was a good day for the Carteret County Republican Party! We are setting the stage to do great things in 2024. Our members have many talents and skills to share. I believe that with purposeful work, we will reap huge benefits as a local Party, in our county, in our state, and in our nation.
