Veterans Parade is this Saturday

 

GOP Sponsoring Float; Veterans Invited to Ride

In honor of and appreciation for members of the US Military, past and present, the Carteret County GOP will sponsor a float in the annual Morehead City Veteran’s Parade, slated for Nov. 4, 2023. We are asking our Republican Veterans to ride on this float.

Our unit number and staging location has been assigned. Our float will be near the corner of Shepherd and 17th streets (we are numbers 124-125). Volunteers are needed to help decorate and are asked to show up at the staging location at 9:30 am. It is suggested that our Veteran’s arrive

 

District Convention Date Set for December 9

The re-districting maps have been filed and passed by the NC General Assembly and NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley has put out the official call for district conventions to commence.

Our District Three now contains the counties of Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pitt, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Onslow, Duplin, Carteret, and a portion of Sampson. The convention is set for December 9, with the major portion of the business session marked for election of district officers for the upcoming two years.

Due to the abbreviated time for preparations, there will not be a nominating committee process; instead, nominations for officers will be made from the convention floor.

At our March 2023 County Convention, we elected 69 delegates to represent us at the district convention. Our county convention Credentials Chair Stephanie Broughton previously credentialed those delegates in anticipation of the district meeting. If you were elected a delegate, you should have received an email announcing the date last week.

Obviously, securing a venue at this time of year is proving to be a challenge; one location being considered is the Leon Mann Center in Morehead City.

Mark your calendars and watch for updates on location and times. It would be fabulous to have a full delegation representing Carteret County.

  • While President Biden keeps insisting things are are on upswing, the typical American household is spending about $730/month more than one year a go because of spiking prices. 
  • The nationwide average for regular gas has been above $3/gallon for 890+ days. Unleash American Energy Supply!
  • Bidenomics is changing people's priorities for the worse: Paying bills and saving for emergencies has replaced saving for retirement as the top concern for workers between the ages of 21 and 64.
  • UNDER BIDEN: Overall prices are up 17.7%, Rent is up by 17.3%, Electricity is up by 26.6%, Groceries are up by 20.6%.
