MOREHEAD CITY, NC 28557

Dear CCGOP Precinct Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen,

On behalf of the Carteret County Republican Party (CCGOP), notice is hereby given that the 2024 Annual Precinct Meetings of the CCGOP will be held on Saturday, February 17th at GOP Headquarters located at the address on this correspondence.

Per Article II, Section E, of the CCGOP Plan of Organization, the following matters will be addressed:

  • Election of delegates to the county convention
  • Election of alternates to the county convention

A detailed schedule is included with this correspondence along with each precinct's estimated delegate and alternate allocation numbers. After January 31st, each precinct chairman will be provided with the official number of allocated delegates/alternates for their respective precinct.

At the precinct meeting, forms will be provided to you which must be completed and submitted to the CCGOP Secretary, Juli Cosgrove, at the close of your precinct meeting. Delegates and alternates cannot be added to your credentials list after the close of your precinct meeting.

Registered Republicans living in your precinct who are unable to attend the annual precinct meeting but wish to be elected a delegate or alternate to the county convention must provide you - as the precinct chairperson - a written statement as to their desires prior to the opening of your meeting. The request may be received through email, snail mail, or hand delivered, as long as it is received prior to the opening of your meeting. These individuals making these requests must be elected as delegates or alternates along with the delegates or alternates present for the meeting. Additionally, the request must be included in the precinct's paperwork submitted at the end of your meeting.

Per Article III Section C.5 of the CCGOP Plan of Organization

"No person shall be seated as a delegate to the County, District, or State Convention unless such person shall have been duly elected a delegate at the appropriate Precinct Meeting."

Only registered Republicans who reside in Carteret County, on or before January 31, 2024, will be entitled to one (1) vote in their respective precinct. Proxy voting is prohibited.
