RNC Statement on the Beginning of Ketanji Brown Jackson's Hearings
March 21, 2022
WASHINGTON - Today Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement as the Ketanji Brown Jackson hearings begin:
"Americans will be watching this week as Joe Biden's nominee must address unanswered questions regarding her radical record, praise of Critical Race Theory, and soft-on-crime sentencing. Ketanji Brown Jackson is the far-left activist judge that Joe Biden promised to nominate, and that out-of-touch agenda will be on full display for the American people this week."
Background:
- Along with a history of embracing CRT and "an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson's treatment of sex offenders," Jackson has a record of far-left activism as a judge.
- In just a few short years on the bench, Jackson repeatedly has ruled against conservative policies.
- Jackson blocked President Trump's executive orders to hold failing federal employees accountable - a decision that the D.C. Circuit unanimously reversed.
- Jackson blocked the Trump administration from expanding its "Expedited Removal" program to deport illegal immigrants faster, absurdly saying that DHS did not consider the impact on illegal immigrants.
- Jackson was a "zealous" advocate for several terrorists detained in Guantanamo Bay, including a Taliban intelligence officer who was likely a leader of a terrorist cell.
- Jackson has called for removing mandatory minimum sentences for child porn, questioned making convicted child predators register as sex offenders, and said some who collect child porn are not actually pedophiles.
- Jackson's sympathy for pedophiles has resulted in lenient sentences for multiple child predators, including a perpetrator who received only a three month prison sentence when the Sentencing Guideline called for up to ten years in prison.
